Parents were both public school teachers; Father was a native of Dumangas, Iloilo; Mother is native of Romblon and Batangas.

Grew up in Project 3, Quezon City, a low-cost government housing project.

Married to Natty T. Golez of Bohol, with two children, Rico & Guada and four grandchildren.
