CIVIC LEADER: GOVERNOR of the PHILIPPINE NATIONAL RED CROSS for twenty years from 1986 to 2005.

• RED CROSS HERO: Awarded RED CROSS BAYANI GOLD MEDAL, for heroism and bravery in the face of gunfire while leading a Red Cross rescue team in the battlefields during the Dec. 1989 coup attempt. One of his team members was shot and seriously wounded.
• Fund Raising Chairman: Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Philippine Cancer Society, Philippine Band of Mercy, Elks Cerebral Palsy Project.

• Married for 36 years to Natty Toledo of Bohol with two children, Rico and Guada, daughter-in-law Belle from Alfonso, Cavite and son-in-law Mike Duque from Alabang, Muntinlupa and San Fernando, La Union, and five grandchildren
