2. The House Committee on Overseas Workers Affairs approved yesterday the OFW Liberalization Bill which seeks to speed up and reduce the cost by half of the processing of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). Golez aims to at least double the present 8 million level of OFWs abroad. He believes that the Philippines should address the emerging shortage of workers in many countries, particularly in Japan, South Korea, the U.S. and Western Europe because of their past population control program.
