MIKE DEFENSOR’S KATZENJAMMER CAPER

Remember how the five House committees investigating the wiretapping case received the tapes from Atty. Paguia? They were received sealed, and signatures of committee chairmen and the tape presentor were affixed to the seal to prevent switching.

That’s how it should be in presenting the tapes for authentication by a third party with both parties (administration and opposition) witnessing the transfer to the mutually agreed expert for examination.

But what happened was Mike Defensor did it on his own. Others don’t know what tapes he submitted to the so-called expert. Where did he get the tapes? Atty. Paguia did not give him a copy. The House committees did not give him a copy.

Thus, he compromised the handling of the evidence to be examined.

Considering there was no witness to the transfer of the tapes to the expert, he could have intentionally tampered the tapes prior to submission to the expert and the expert would of course find them tampered then Defensor would use the expert’s finding, as he has done, saying, “Aha, tapes are tampered!”

Moreover, Defensor had no personality to initiate the authentication. He is the DENR secretary and has no official capacity to be part of the investigation. He is one of the most biased persons on the planet in favor of the President and any move to submit evidence by him is self-serving and dubious.

He violated the basic SOPs of evidence handling.

His move is too late in the day, happening more than two months after Sec. Bunye revealed the existence of the tapes. It is obviously part of a grand cover-up that started with Bunye’s presentation of the apparently manufactured “Gary tapes” starring minor political aide Ruado, wherein Bunye and the President both stand accused of obstruction of justice in the Amended Impeachment Complaint.

It’s like a civilian guy who walks into a police station two months after a fatal stabbing incident telling the police, “Hey, I found this in the scene of the crime and per my expert’s examination, it contains the engraved name of Mike Defensor, therefore he owns the knife and he is the assailant, so you should arrest him!”

That so-called knife would of course be dismissed having no evidentiary value. It was presented too late by someone who had nothing to do with the crime investigation. It was Garbage In, Garbage Out or GIGO!

Ano palagay ni Mike sa mga Pinoy? GIGO?

I can’t believe Mike and his cohort would take us for fools. He has insulted the people’s intelligence.

I dare him to appear before the five-committee joint hearing of the House. I will ask that the five committees reconvene so we can eat him alive there.

Finally, if the tapes were indeed tampered and the President’s conversations fabricated, how come the President has not stepped forward to angrily condemn the alleged spurious tape. Her honor is at stake and the normal human reaction is to howl in protest. But she has remained silent. Why?
