GOLEZ: MUSHARRAF SPEECH BIG BOOST TO NATIONAL SECURITY: Congressman Roilo Golez (2d District, Paranaque), Chairman of the House Committee on National Defense and former National Security Adviser in the Arroyo administration, hailed the address of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf before the joint session of Congress as a big boost to national security. Golez cited Musharraf's appeal to Filipino Muslims to reject extremism and shun the path of violence and remain loyal members of the Philippine Republic. Golez also applauded Musharraf's pledge that Pakistan will continue its role of helping promote peace in Mindanao both bilaterally and multilaterally through eh OIC. Golez said that we now have a very influential ally in the OIC in the person of President Musharraf and stated that Musharraf's efforts will help accelerate the peace agreement with the MILF.
